November is Native American Heritage Month, a time to recognize and center the history and contributions of Indigenous people and tribes of the United States. Whether you're looking for pictures books celebrating Native American culture to read with kids, a bestselling book written for teens to check off for your Jax Stacks Reading Challenge or just books by Native authors, the Library has some recommendations this month.

National Novel Writing Month

If you’re a writer, you know that November is National Novel Writing Month. Though, you might call it “NaNoWriMo” – either affectionately or, let’s face it, out of sheer necessity. Because really, if you’ve committed to writing 50,000 words in 30 days, who’s got the time?! But if you need some motivation, inspiration, writing resources, or just some quick tips to get you started, the Library has you covered.

Friends of Willow Branch Library Bike Tour & Open House

To celebrate their 30th anniversary, the Friends of Willow Branch Library will be hosting a bike tour of the Little Free Libraries in the Riverside Avondale neighborhood. The Books and Bikes tour starts at 10 am at Willow Branch and is co-sponsored by ZenCog Bicycle Company and Honey Pot Bikes Collective. No registration is required.
