Junior Scholars: Spring Has Sprung!
Shake off the "Winter Blues" because spring has sprung! The sun is out and the flowers are blooming! You don't mind a little rain shower, do you? All that sun and rain help things grow. Join us this week as our programs celebrate all things green and growing!
Jr. Scholars: Dino Discovery
Millions of years after dinosaurs became extinct, it took some very curious scientists to find them again! For this week of Women's History Month, we take a look at trailblazing women paleontologists to see what it takes to unearth giant lizards buried under layers of rock and sand, as well as paleoartists, who used the fossils to re-create what these animals might have looked like. Join us for a program as we dig deep into discovering dinosaurs!
Junior Scholars: Women of the Computer Age
What if I told you that, not too long ago, women were kept from participating in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics...would you believe it? It's true! It was a long-held belief that women did not have the "smarts" or the "talents" for such subjects! Thankfully, there have been some fearless and very smart women who decided to prove otherwise. For this week of Women's History Month, we celebrate the Women of the Computer Age who showed the world that a woman's place is in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics!
Junior Scholars: Space Pioneers
Space captures the interest and imagination of many people. When you look up into the night sky, what do you wonder about? I think about how amazing it is that we have sent men and women into space to explore our Moon and learn more about our Milky Way Galaxy. March is Women's History Month, and this week, we celebrate the many contributions of female scientists, engineers, and astronauts who have taken us to the stars and made space exploration possible. Join us at a program to learn more about these amazing Space Pioneers!
Junior Scholars: Environmental Warriors
We do not inherit the Earth from our Ancestors, we borrow it from our Children." -- Native proverb
Caring for our Earth is everyone's job. In today's world, kids are learning what they can do to protect our environment. March is Women's History Month, and we're exploring women who were scientists, inventors, mathematicians, and artists. This week, we'll "meet" some amazing women who've gone above and beyond to become Environmental Warriors! Join us, and you'll be inspired to do something to help our environment!
