#Books to Celebrate Going Back to School

#Back-to-School Tips & Tools

School starts next week here in Duval County. Have you picked up all of the supplies on your list? If you haven't signed yourself or your kids up for a library card, you are missing one of the best (and free) resources available! Not only does a library card give you access to free books, movies, and music but there are also some lesser-known benefits you should know about!

You may know about our Little Readers storytimes or even our many afterschool programs for Kids and Teens but did you know you can access free on-demand learning from the computers in the library or even at home? Keep reading to learn more!

Free Educational Games

ABCmouse features hundreds of fun and interactive games for toddlers through second grade, each designed to teach a specific educational concept. It helps teach kids the alphabet, numbers, and shapes to reading, writing, art, social studies, and more.

To begin using ABCmouse, visit a library location to sign up for an account on one of our Public Access Computers or while connected to the library Wi-Fi network.  Then enjoy your FREE 100%-off discount with access from Jacksonville Public Library.  Think of your library card number as a promo code. Note:  The ABCMouse app is required for mobile access.

Miss Humblebee's Academy is an award-winning online curriculum that prepares children ages 3-6 for kindergarten. It also helps kids learn to read through phonics and teaches lessons in math, science, social studies, art, music, and social and emotional learning.
