Teen Think Tank (6th - 12th Grade): Get Caught Reading
Gather around, I'm going to impart some great social advice here: If you want to get to know somebody, like really know them, ask them what their favorite book is! Seriously, you can learn a lot about a person by what they read (or listen to—because Audiobooks totally count)! Talking about books usually gets people to open up about all sorts of things. NOW, if you want someone to ask you about your favorite book, carry it around with you and "Get Caught Reading!" We'll even make it easy for you as we happen to be celebrating the nationwide campaign “to promote the fun of reading books for all ages” this week! Be sure to post your pics with #jaxlibrary and tell us how it goes! (YOU'RE WELCOME!)
Teen Think Tank (6th - 12th Grade): Arab American Heritage
Representation matters; it's important that we see more characters in media that reflect the diversity in the World. April is Arab-American Heritage Month and we'd like to introduce you to some amazing authors who are creating coming-of-age stories that speak to all teens.
Teen Think Tank (6th - 12th Grade): Earth Day
When it comes to climate and our planet, we are at a precipice of destruction. The choices we make NOW will have lasting effects on our quality of life TOMORROW. Earth Day is coming up on April 22nd. How will you be celebrating and helping to #RestoreOurEarth?
Teen Think Tank (6th - 12th Grade): Library Week
It's Springtime, which means EVERYTHING is blooming! It's no different here at your Jacksonville Public Library. This week, we officially kick off April with Library Week! Take a peek at all the new materials just waiting for you to check out!
