Teen Think Tank (6th - 12th Grade): TeenTober – Tech & Gaming
TeenTober is a nationwide celebration hosted by libraries every October that aims to celebrate teens (woohoo!). We promote year-round teen services and the innovative ways libraries help teens learn new skills and fuel their passions – both in and outside of the library. We celebrate by promoting programs and resources for teens with topics like reading and writing, technology, gaming, art and music.

Hispanic/Latinx Heritage Month is a time for Americans who identify as Hispanic/Latinx to celebrate the traditions and history unique to their cultural background. The celebration begins on September 15 and ends October 15, as it has every year since 1989. It's split across two months because September 15 is a key date in the history of several Latin American countries: It's when Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua declared their independence from Spain in 1821. Additionally, Mexico declared their independence from Spain on September 16, 1810.

When I hear the term "Superhero", I picture comic book figures like Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman – you know, the people with special powers that always seem to be in the right place at the right time. A "Hero", on the other hand, is harder to define.
