#Special Book Club
Join us on Friday, December 6, from 1-3 p.m. at the Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens in Riverside for a spirited discussion of Braiding Sweetgrass, by Robin Wall Kimmerer! We'll start off by taking a tour of the Spirit in the Land exhibit before talking about the book.
Guiding questions:
- How do artists use their creative practice to celebrate their relationship with the land and address concerns in their communities?
- How can art and nature (experiences with the Museum) help visitors appreciate the land and develop the mutual understanding, care, and respect necessary for the survival and flourishing of all communities?
- What can art reveal about the relationship between cultural identity and the land?
There's also a special Teen Book Club (for ages 12-18) on Saturday, December 7, from 12-1:30 p.m. They'll discuss Braiding Sweetgrass for Young Adults by Robin Wall Kimmerer and Monique Gray Smith, tour the Cummer Gardens and the Spirit in the Land exhibit, and do an art activity.
Note: There is no charge to enter the Museum if you are registered for one of the book clubs.
