Join A Jacksonville Public Library Book Club
Is your New Year’s Resolution to read more books, read books outside of your comfort zone, or talk about books with others? We’ve got you covered! Our 10 book clubs run the gamut from true crime and mystery to graphic novels and Florida authors. We are also kicking off our Jax Stacks Reading Challenge book club, where you can come and learn about great books that other people are reading and share your own favorites.

Join us for one (or more!) of our ten book clubs meeting this November, in branches and online. Try our quarterly Cookbook Club at the Regency Branch, or our newly monthly ComiClub at the Willow Branch Branch, or one of our online book clubs via Facebook or Zoom. Fun fact: The New Leaf Book Club’s selection this month is written by a Jacksonville-raised author who graduated from Stanton College Prep!

October’s book club reads bring you some old favorite authors as well as new and upcoming authors. Stephen King and Agatha Christie headline at Beaches and Highlands branches. West branch reads The Henna Artist by Alka Joshi, a debut novelist at 62 and Mandarin delves into Haben’s Story about the first Deafblind graduate of Harvard Law School, and her amazing journey from isolation to the world stage.

This fall the Library is offering several monthly book clubs, both in-branch and virtual and there are tons of genres to choose from! Some books that are featured this month are 1984 by George Orwell, The Family Upstairs by Lisa Jewell, Every Vow You Break by Peter Swanson, Squeeze Me by Carl Hiaasen, The Less People Know About Us by Axton Betz-Hamilton and Dear Edward by Ann Napolitano. Be sure to check out our newest book club, Nuts About Reading at the West Branch!

The Library is offering several monthly book clubs around the county and there is a little bit of everything in the month of August! We have investigative fiction, romance, love stories, and of course, true crime. Whether you are looking to connect with other readers and make new friends or if you are just wanting to establish a regular reading habit, join our book clubs and you are off to a great start!
