#Celebrating Book Lovers
Okay, so technically, National Book Lovers Day is an "unofficial" holiday... but it is officially one of the Library's favorites! Celebrated on August 9 every year, it's the perfect opportunity for librarians, book clubs, and your everyday bibliophile to talk about their favorite books with other, equally-excited book lovers.
Books You Might Have Overlooked
This year for National Book Lovers Day, we thought we'd show some love to some truly great books that, for whatever reason, readers mights have otherwise overlooked. Plenty of you did find these books on your own (or through other booklists) but most of them haven't gone viral on BookTok or been chosen by Reese's Book Club (at least not yet). That doesn't mean you shouldn't check them out!

Jax Stacks Reading Challenge
Staying inside and avoiding the heat this August? We don't blame you! Lazy summer days (and nights) are the perfect opportunity to explore new interests. What to check out a genre you've never read before? Or maybe you just want to get completely out of your comfort zone and expand your reading horizons? Jax Stacks is the Library's year-round reading challenge for adults. And it's not too late to join! There are 16 categories (you choose 12). You've probably already read several books this year that fulfill these categories (go, you!).
Bonus: You could even pick up some cool swag if you complete the challenge by the end of the year.
Connect With Other Readers
Reading doesn't have to be a solitary activity. Not when there are book lovers all over Jacksonville who want to talk about the books they're reading! Join a Library Book Club and get book recommendations from librarians and book lovers like you!
