Battle of the Books Starting June 16 2pm live on Zoom

Calling all Duval County teens to Jacksonville Public Library's second annual Battle of the Books! This is an exciting book-based competition that you’ll play from home using Kahoot! Battle it out until the best book is crowned champion!

Over the last 31 years, the ADA has expanded opportunities for people with disabilities by reducing barriers and changing perceptions, and increasing full participation in community life.

Hire a Veteran Day: Tips for Vets and Employers

National Hire A Veteran Day on July 25 is an annual reminder and a call to action for employers and all those in hiring positions to seek out qualified veterans to hire and promote. It was founded by Marine Corps veteran Dan Caporale (who also founded the organization Hire Our Heroes). It is also a way to communicate to veterans the value and experience they bring to the table; veterans are highly trained, disciplined individuals with proven skills in communication and teamwork.

The Library is offering several monthly book clubs around the county and there is a little bit of everything in the month of August! We have investigative fiction, romance, love stories, and of course, true crime. Whether you are looking to connect with other readers and make new friends or if you are just wanting to establish a regular reading habit, join our book clubs and you are off to a great start!
