Hispanic Heritage Month honors the cultures and contributions of Hispanic and Latine/Latinx Americans and their impact on American history. President Lyndon B. Johnson created Hispanic Heritage Week in 1968. President Ronald Reagan signed a law in 1988 to expand the observation to a full 30-day period.
The celebration begins September 15 and ends on October 15.
