#The Good, the Bad and the Booklist

Doing a good deed feels pretty good. Whether it’s a random act of kindness, raising money for your favorite charity or returning books to the library… “Good guys” always do their part.

If you’re looking for role models, a book is a great place to start. Take, for example, the InvestiGators by John Green. They’re alligators who crack cases and catch criminals? What’s not to like?

#The Bad Guys Guide to Being Good

But what happens when a bad guy suddenly decides to go good?

If you and your kids have seen the movie or read the super-popular series of Bad Guys books by Aaron Blabey, you know doing good doesn’t come easy for legendary criminals Mr. Wolf, Mr. Piranha, Mr. Snake, and Mr. Shark. But they’re determined to turn over a new leaf! And not only that, they want the world to see them as full-on heroes!

If your kids like the Bad Guys, they might also get a kick out of Blabey’s other books like Pig the Pug. While he’s not a “bad guy” per se, he can be pretty selfish. He’s got lots of bouncy balls and other fun toys but he refuses to share!

If they've finished all the Bad Guys books and are looking for more over-the-top capers, definitely check out The Infamous Ratsos by Kara LaReau featuring rat brothers Louie and Ralphie Ratso.

Do your kids want more secret rescue missions and anthropomorphic do-gooders? Do they like cryptids? Then don’t miss The Yeti Files: Meet the Bigfeet by Kevin Sherry.
