#Center for Adult Learning
Originally founded in 1984 as the "Computers and Literacy" program at the Hayden Burns Library, Jacksonville Public Library's Center for Adult Learning (CAL) has helped thousands of adults over the years fulfill their educational goals and gain the skills needed to enter and succeed in the workforce.
Today, we serve over 800 adult students each year - providing 100% free, small-group instruction to Duval residents, 18 and older, who want to improve their English, pass the GED Test, or become a U.S. citizen. Classes are offered online, in the daytime and evening, to fit a variety of busy schedules. To register for classes, new students need to schedule an appointment to talk with one of our instructors. After a short assessment, we'll work with you to find the class (or classes) that best fit your current goals and schedule (no guesswork required!).
- Are you preparing for the GED Test®?
- Do you need to improve your English language skills?
- Want to make sure you're ready for the US Naturalization (Citizenship) Test and Interview?
Please note: All appointments and classes are currently only offered online via Zoom.
