3.1.4 — Borrowing Limit Schedules

  1. Purpose
  2. The purpose of this policy is to establish and communicate the borrowing limits related to Policy 3.1.3 Borrowing Library Materials.

  3. Physical Collection Schedule
    1. General Members and Non-Resident Subscribers may borrow up to 100 physical items at any time.
    2. School Student Member privileges are defined in applicable memorandum of understanding (MOU).

  4. Digital Collection Schedule
    1. These limits apply to General Members, and Non-Resident Subscribers.

  5. Lendable Technology Schedule
  6. General Members and Non-Resident Subscribers ages 18 and older are eligible to borrow lendable technology per Policy 3.1.3 Borrowing Library Materials.

  7. Special Borrowing Limits Schedule
  8. The Board of Library Trustees (BOLT) authorizes the Library Director to establish alternate borrowing limits for holidays and/or emergencies.

  9. New Material Types Schedule
  10. The BOLT authorizes the Library Director to establish temporary borrowing limits for new material types not currently held in the Library collection in order for the Library to gauge customer interest in new formats.

  11. Procedures
  12. The BOLT authorizes the Library Director to establish procedures to administer this policy, and to delegate any and all responsibilities herein to other staff through such procedures.
