The Cutthroat World of Demons and Book Publishing
In Kadeem Locke's Demonology: The Bond, we meet Nexus, an aspiring writer whose world spirals into chaos after a near-death experience binds his heart to Nyx—a powerful demon who takes the form of an unassuming black cat. What was once a quiet, mundane existence is now suddenly full of dangers, demons, and high-stakes survival. While the supernatural aspect of his life is heating up, a friend offers him a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to have his unpublished novel read by some major bigwigs. But if he isn’t careful, whatever it is lurking in the depths of the night might just kill him before he even has a chance to submit his draft.
Lit Chat Author Talk with Kadeem Locke
Kadeem Locke is a Jamaican-American writer, born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. He would love to tell you that, like his favorite characters, he was out fighting crime or something of the sort. However, a slew of other things, like watching anime, playing video games, reading, and writing take up much his time, with writing being the number one culprit. You can often catch him at your local restaurant or bookstore doing what he always does, reading and writing.
You can also join him at 6:30 p.m., Monday, March 23, at University Park Branch Library to hear more about his debut fantasy novel, Demonology: The Bond. A book signing will follow the short presentation and audience Q&A, with books available for sale on site.
