#Get back to school ready with these Back to School books!

As the first day of school rapidly approaches, students are preparing to return to the classroom and so are their first day of school jitters! For some students, the first day of school is welcomed with a load excitement, while others simply dread the end of a fun-filled summer. No matter the case, books are a great way to help students prepare for the many adventures of a new school year!

Our expert librarians have put together a collection of stories to help calm the restless nerves of students and assist them with the transition from summer break to an exciting first day of school. The booklist below is a just small example of the Back to School books we have available. For more Back to School books available, please check out our catalog.

If you're looking for additional resources to help prepare students for the upcoming school year, be sure to check out:

  • Back to School Boot Camp - Join us for two weeks of back to school fun as we gear up and get excited for a new school year. In our various programs we will read stories, complete crafts, get organized, and learn mindfulness techniques to help you get ready for school! These programs are for ages 5-12 and you can join us either in branch or virtually.
  • Back to School Bash at the Brentwood Library - On Saturday, August 6th, join us at Brentwood Public Library as we celebrate and prepare our youth for the 2022- 2023 school year with backpacks for K-12th graders (while supplies last), school supplies, food concession, a game truck, music and more! The opening ceremony begins at 10:15 am and the festivities begin at 10:30 am.
