A native of Los Angeles, California, Fernando Meza has lived in Jacksonville since 2003, when he was stationed aboard the USS John F. Kennedy Aircraft Carrier as a member in the US Navy. Throughout his enlistment, he worked at a local bar in Jacksonville Beach where he learned the traits of mixology and sharpened his customer service background. Entrenching himself into a new community, Fernando began engaging in local political and non-profit organizations. When arriving to Jacksonville, he registered for courses at the University of North Florida and began mentoring kids at Take Stock in Children.
Holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science, Fernando serves on the Jacksonville Beach City Council. He is a vocal and active resident of Jacksonville Beach; participating in numerous organizations, such as the Duval County Republican Party and the Jacksonville Young Republicans. In 2015 He opened the Wreck Tiki Lounge in Jacksonville Beach, where he serves as the establishment’s operating partner.
