#Week of WasabiCon, October 9 -15
Looking for ways to interact with anime and manga fans? Join us for Manga Monday on October 9 from 3 - 5:30 p.m. in the Teen Room at Main Library. You'll make new friends, talk about your favorite characters, and check out the Library's massive manga and graphic novels collection.
Adults can also join us on the second floor (next to the Graphic Novel collection) for a Manga Meetup for grownups. It's part of a "Week of WasabiCon," with events happening all over downtown Jacksonville.
Started in 2012, WasabiCon® is Northeast Florida’s largest pop culture event for fans of cosplay, anime, tabletop, and video games. The event, its eleventh in Jacksonville, Florida, will take place at the Prime F. Osborn III Convention Center and will feature celebrity guests, video games, tabletop gaming, a car show, food trucks, and over 200 exhibitors.

Jacksonville Public Library will also be an exhibitor at WasabiCon! And we're bringing tons of manga for people to read and check out at the convention. So, don't forget your library card if you'd like to take one home! Find us in the Exhibitor Hall October 13-15 at the Prime Osborn Convention Center. #Join Us For a Graphic Novel Book Club
There’s something for everyone in the world of comics and graphic novels! Whether you can name every Robin from memory or you liked that one episode of Watchmen on HBO, join us at the Comic Club, meeting the second Tuesday of every month at 6 p.m. at Willow Branch Library. There's even a special Halloween Comic Club on Tuesday, October 31. They'll be reading and discussing Through the Woods by Emily Carroll.

#Saturday Morning Cartooning
Are you a comic creator? Find your community and practice your skills on Saturdays from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. at the Main Library! Saturday Morning Cartooning is an informal drop-in activity where local comic artists and writers meet up to share ideas and resources, cheer each other on, and collaborate on projects. There are also how-to books and other resources available for checkout from the collection. Find them next to the Zine Zone on the first floor of the Main Library.
