Maggie has been volunteering with her therapy dog, Kiwi, at Westbrook Library since June 2023. Kiwi is a 4-year-old Labradoodle, who loves to have kids read to her. The dynamic duo also volunteers at Brown Eastside Library. In her spare time, she is a busy traveling to different cities as a flight attendant. Maggie and Kiwi are always a cheerful addition to the busy afternoons at the Westbrook Library where young readers let off steam after school. Read with Kiwi sessions encourage our young readers to find books and topics they enjoy reading and to share their joy for reading with others. For our shy readers, Maggie reads alongside them as they learn new words. Thank you Maggie and Kiwi for all you do!
What inspired you to volunteer for the library?
We love reading and wanted to share the joy that books bring us with others.
What is the most rewarding part about volunteering for the library?
The most rewarding part is having our “regulars”. Kiwi definitely knows which kids love to spend time with her the most.
What is Kiwi's favorite book or genre to read?
Kiwi’s favorite book is Snuggle Puppy and she loves any book but especially ones with beautiful illustrations.
