Play Champions lead engaging, age appropriate games that build social skills, creativity, and confidence with children between 8 to 15 years old. These volunteers are responsive to the interests of the kids and provide opportunities for play based on the interests and needs of their audience.
Examples of Work:
- Host gameplay for commercially available games (Uno, Connect Four, Clue, etc)
- Support branch staff with established activities like arts and crafts.
- Support positive peer interactions, turn taking, and other social skills (listening, following directions, sharing ideas).
Minimum age: 19 years.
Qualifications: Ability to perform assigned tasks in an independent, friendly, and professional manner. Responsive to children’s interests to guide gameplay. Energetic, welcoming presence. Clear communication and ability to manage small groups with kindness and consistency. Willingness to learn simple activity routines and follow staff guidance.
Availability: Monday - Thursday, 2:30-4 pm, summer hours may vary
Locations: Argyle, Brown Eastside
