This fun-filled, family-friendly event will include appearances by Clifford the Big Red Dog, an author read-aloud, raffles, and more! Plus, kids can pick up FREE books and food (while supplies last)!
Mayor Deegan’s River City Readers is a citywide literacy challenge for students of all ages. Challenge participants are asked to read 20 minutes a day and to log their reading in Beanstack, a popular reading challenge app. Readers are rewarded with digital badges for logging multiple days in a row and for completing other reading-related activities. At the end of the year, the city’s top young readers are given prizes!

We are always looking for engaging and entertaining performers! ve from the Library performances are an hour in length, have an audience of 30 to 50 participants, and target children ages five through twelve. During school breaks (summer, winter, and spring), we may schedule multiple performances at any of our 21 branches across Jacksonville, FL.
