The NEFLIN Innovation Award recognizes an innovative program or service that has demonstrated impact on the community between the dates of July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2016.
Facilities Assistant Director and New Collection Development Manager Positions Filled
JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Sept. 30, 2016 – The Jacksonville Public Library is proud to announce the promotions of two outstanding library employees. Aubrey Winship Shah was promoted to an appointed position of assistant director of facilities in July; and Charlene Adkins will assume the role of a newly appointed position of collection development manager on Oct. 1, coinciding with the library’s 2016/17 fiscal year.
Joy G. Korman Will Be Honored for Endowment to Enhance Children’s Programming
JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Sept. 28, 2016 – The Jacksonville Public Library and the Jacksonville Public Library Foundation will celebrate the completion of an 18-by-50-foot children’s mural titled “The Joy of Discovery” located in the Joy G. Korman Discovery Zone of the Children’s Department at the Main Library on the second floor.

Library Staff and Guests to Celebrate 27 Years of Calendar’s Publication
JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Jan. 14, 2016 – Jacksonville Public Library staff and honored guests will gather for the library’s unveiling of the 2016 Jacksonville Black History Calendar which continues to be a vital resource documenting the achievements and events in the annals of Jacksonville’s African-American community. This is the 27th annual unveiling and the ninth to be held at the library.
