Are you looking for something fun and educational to do with the kids this summer? Start the week off right by joining Mr. Joe and library staff every Monday morning on the Riverfront Plaza! Gather around the lawn for singing, dancing, playing, and reading! We’ll read rhythmic stories together and add songs and movements to make it a wonderful time for all. Join us for a storytime they won’t forget!

Kick-off your summer weekends in July with Mr. Joe! Join Mr. Joe and library staff on Friday evenings in July at  The Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens for a special Pop-Up Storytime to celebrate Summer at the Cummer! Mr. Joe will present two Pop-Up Storytimes at 5:30 pm & 6:30 pm in the newly refreshed and nationally recognized education center, Art Connections. The Library will also have a table in Art Connections where you can sign up for a library card and check out books! Bring the family to experience stories, songs, art, culture, and community this Summer at the Cummer! 

If you know Joseph Gaskin, otherwise known as Mr. Joe, a Library Associate at Willow Branch Library and a student in the Master of Science in Information program at Florida State University, you would not be surprised to hear that he was awarded the 2020 American Library Association (ALA) Spectrum Scholarship. In July 2020, the American Library Association's Office for Diversity, Literacy and Outreach Services awarded 2020 Spectrum Scholarships to 61 exceptional students pursuing graduate degrees in library and information studies, and Joseph Gaskin was one of them.
