Looking for ways to interact with anime and manga fans? Join us for Manga Monday on October 9 from 3 - 5:30 p.m. in the Teen Room at Main Library. You'll make new friends, talk about your favorite characters, and check out the Library's massive manga and graphic novels collection. It's part of a "Week of Wasabicon," with events happening all over downtown Jacksonville. The Library will also be an exhibitor at WasabiCon! And we're bringing tons of manga for people to read and check out at the convention.

Dust off those capes, grab your favorite set of dice, and start your next adventure downtown at the Main Library on Saturday, March 23, 2024, from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. You're invited to an all-new event inspired by library comic cons of the past. It's a celebration of all the books, comics, video games, TV shows, and movies you love. There will be cosplay, D&D, video games, comics, manga and so much more!

July is Graphic Novels in Libraries Month! This annual holiday was started in 2019 to highlight all of the manga, graphic novels, and comics that libraries have in their collections. Spoiler alert: it's a lot! We also use it to promote all of the fun, geeky programs and activities we offer for readers. July is Graphic Novels in Libraries Month! Started in 2019 to bring attention to and promote the growing graphic novel and comics collections in our nation’s libraries, the month-long celebration coincides with the world’s biggest fandom event, San Diego Comic Con. In addition to highlighting collections and their accessibility through digital library apps like Hoopla, Graphic Novel Month is a great opportunity to show the range of formats, genres, characters and benefits that these mediums have to offer.

The latest Batman movie reboot is set in the vigilante's second year of fighting crime. For now, fans looking for stories from Batman’s later years or those centered around other members of the extended “Bat Family” will have to look beyond the big screen (for now). Fortunately, Batgirl, Batwoman, Robin, and Nightwing are all well-represented at the Library!

Comic book superheroes are experiencing a renaissance. But with so many characters, time travel plots, branching timelines, and alternate universes: sometimes it’s helpful to go back to the original source. So, whether you’re looking to fill in some gaps or you want to see what’s next, the Library has you covered.
