JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Jan. 27, 2017 – The Jacksonville Public Library will suspend service at the Murray Hill Branch Library from Feb. 10 through Feb. 22 in order to replace the carpet throughout the branch and make other upgrades to computers and furniture.

Students Will Engage in a “A Decade of Dots” Competitions and Activities to Celebrate the Tenth Year of the Florida Braille Challenge
JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Jan. 27, 2017 – The Jacksonville Public Library is pleased to host the North Florida Regional Braille Challenge for a third consecutive year. Schools in Duval, St. Johns and Clay counties will send more than 50 kindergarten through high school students to compete. The Main Library is one of four regional Florida hosts for the 2017 competition, which is themed “A Decade of Dots.”
Exhibit Spans Black History Month, Women’s History Month and National Poetry Month
JACKSONVILLE, Fla., January 24, 2017 – Jacksonville Public Library is proud to present the one-of-a-kind exhibit Kesha – A Black Female Experience of Identity and Race at the Jax Makerspace Gallery in the Main Library. Through photography, videography, sculpture, textile art, 2D art and more, 14 black female artists will depict their interpretation of black femininity, ethnicity, identity, and stereotypes.
