Literacy Day

#Jacksonville Public Library Celebrates World Literacy Day!

September 8th is World Literacy Day, and the Jacksonville Public Library is excited to be a part of the global celebration! Literacy is the foundation for learning. It is a critical component for sustainable development and an essential tool for individuals and communities to access and understand the world.

To mark this special occasion, the Jacksonville Public Library has prepared an exciting array of activities and events. We have curated a special booklist that encompasses a diverse range of genres and authors, aimed at promoting literacy and a love for reading. Together, let's honor the importance of literacy and the written word in enriching our lives and expanding our horizons. Let's come together to recognize the power of reading and ensure that everyone has access to the transformative benefits of literacy.

Jacksonville Public Library has an AMAZING collection of books featuring stories and information written by and about people from varied backgrounds, races, ethnicities, life experiences, and viewpoints.

Don't miss this opportunity to engage with the magic of words and stories. We look forward to seeing you at the Jacksonville Public Library as we celebrate World Literacy Day and the profound impact of literacy on individuals and society as a whole.
