# Happy Father's Day
On the third Sunday in June, we celebrate fathers, fatherhood, and paternal figures and bonds of all kinds. Jacksonville Public Library has a great collection of books about fathers and fatherhood that kids and their dads are sure to love!
Drop in for Donuts with Dad from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday, June 14, at the Mandarin Library. Have a donut, make a card, read a book together. All dads and special guys in your life are welcome! Made possible by the Friends of the Mandarin Library.
Of course, summer is a great time to spend time reading as a family. Not only does it help prevent learning loss while the kids are out of school for the summer, it gives kids and dads an opportunity for quality time and connection. You can listen to an audiobook together in the car on your next road trip. Or grab a book of spooky ghost stories to read around the campfire!
June is also Men's Mental Health Awareness Month. So, in addition to books about exercise, homebrewing, and (of course) dad jokes: Library staff have included a few books that speak to some of the challenges that fathers face as well as ways to get and stay healthy.
