Celebrate America 250 presents: Fresh & Funny Stories About Abraham Lincoln from 1:30 - 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12, at Southeast Regional Library, 10599 Deerwood Park Blvd. Pre-registration is recommended.
During the presentation, Eileen will offer fresh insights and stories about Abraham Lincoln’s life from her research. Dave will take you behind the scenes and detail how he illustrated the book. There will be time for Q&A at the end.

The Superlative A. Lincoln, Poems About Our 16th President is on the Library of Congress “Great Reads from Great Places” list representing the state of Florida.
Starting in 1984, the Center for the Book in the Library of Congress began to establish Affiliate Centers, starting with the 50 states. Today, there is an Affiliate Center for the Book in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Guam and Northern Marianas.
In most cases, these books are written by authors from their state or territory, take place in their state or territory and/or celebrate local culture and heritage. Members of the Center for the Book Affiliates network carry out the national Center’s mission nationwide, sponsor programs that highlight their area’s local literary heritage and call attention to the importance of books, reading, libraries and literacy. Each Center for the Book affiliate chooses its Great Reads titles by convening expert panels and/or welcoming nominations from the public. The Library of Congress makes these lists available as part of the National Book Festival.
