Jacksonville Public Library Travels to Kenya with Grad Student

8,000 miles from home. No access to a public library. And desperately in need of a good read. It’s an easy fix for Sarah Davis, a graduate student from Jacksonville, Florida, studying at Kenyatta University in Nairobi, Kenya. With Jacksonville Public Library’s digital collections—even across the world—she enjoys 24/7 access to e-books and databases simply by logging onto her account from her iPhone and iPad.

To Infinity and Beyond

Taylor Richardson at Pablo Creek Library holding the book Star WatchIt all started with a book for local teen Taylor Richardson and now her sights are set on Mars, with a couple of stops in between. It's all about the impact for Taylor, when she says “I want to make an impact,” she isn’t just saying it, she’s doing it.

Books For Kids

Literacy is a vitally important tool for kids to succeed yet many underprivileged children in our area don't have books of their own.

Action News Jax Family Focus, 95.1 WAPE and the Jacksonville Public Library are teaming up to change that with Tenikka's Books for Kids.

Welcome: New Library Director Tim Rogers

Hello, I wanted to share a short message of introduction to let you know how excited I am to be joining the Jacksonville Public Library team. As you can imagine, my wife Carla and I have been pretty busy over the past month celebrating the holidays with family and prepping for our new life in North Florida.  We found a place to live on the Southside, got our Florida driver’s licenses and car tags, and most importantly, went to our new home branch, Southeast Regional, to register for library cards. We are officially Jaxsons (or Jacksonvillians, if you prefer)!
