More Ways to Show Support

These groups understand the critical importance of libraries and advocate to ensure that our library gets the resources it needs to provide an expansive collection and a wide variety of services to all ages. Their dedicated volunteers work long hours to raise money through book sales, engage in advocacy, and plan pro-literacy events – all for the betterment of the Library and community.

If you don't have time to volunteer, you can still support their mission by becoming a member or by simply shopping at a book sale. Note: Depending on the group, members may receive special discounts or early access (often called members' preview sales).

Donate Books and Other Materials

You can also support any of our Friends of the Library groups at any time by donating your gently-loved books, DVDs, CDs, and jigsaw puzzles. Donations totaling less than 3 boxes can be dropped off at any branch. If you have a large amount of books (more than 3 boxes), you may consider taking the rest directly to the Friends of the Jacksonville Public Library Bookstore located at 3435 University Blvd N (next to the University Park Branch Library).
