Teen Think Tank (6th - 12th Grade): Earth Day

When it comes to climate and our planet, we are at a precipice of destruction. The choices we make NOW will have lasting effects to our quality of life TOMORROW. Earth Day is coming up on April 22nd. How will you be celebrating and helping to #RestoreOurEarth?

#READ: Hothouse Earth by Stephanie Sammartino McPherson

Hothouse Earth book coverAs hurricanes, droughts, floods, and wildfires are increasing in regularity and intensity, climate change can no longer be ignored. Melting permafrost, forest dieback, ocean acidification, and other processes are creating positive feedback loops, which could, if not aggressively and quickly addressed, spiral out of control and take global warming past the point of no return. Hothouse Earth examines how science, politics, and social justice must all be part of the equation to counteract climate change.

#LISTEN: Unstoppable by Bill Nye

UnstoppableHarnessing Science to Change the World
Just as World War II called an earlier generation to greatness, so the climate crisis is calling today's rising youth to action: to create a better future.
