Use your library card or apply for an ecard here to access our digital library!

#1 New York Times bestseller James Dean turns it up in Pete the Cat's cool adaptation of the classic children's song "Five Little Ducks." Fans of Pete the Cat will love rocking out to this classic tune with a groovy twist.

Increase pre-literacy skills as you read together:

  • As you read, encourage your little one to use their fingers to count down as the ducks disappear.
  • Talk about the differences between the ducks. What is each of them wearing?
  • Have your little one look closely at the illustrations as you read. Can they spy what leads each little duck away from the group?
  • Act out the story. For example, pretend to swim, jump and hop, flap your arms like wings, and run in place.

#SING: I'm a Little Ducky

(Tune: I'm a Little Teapot)

I’m a little duck, my wings are neat,

Here is my tail and here are my feet.

When it starts to rain down on my back,

I flap my wings and quack, quack, quack.
