Five mice race down a road, eager to cross the finish line. But first they must overcome all sorts of messy obstacles, including mud and one very hungry cat!

Increase pre-literacy skills as you read together:

  • Ask your little learner(s) to identify the animals in the story and various items throughout the book.
  • Practice saying the sounds in the book together. Pause periodically to ask your little one(s) what they think is happening in the story or how a character feels.
  • Imagine how the story will end by asking your little one(s) questions like "Who do you think will win?" or "What will happen to the mice?"
