- Use your fingers to count down from 5.
- Make connections between the story and your little one's experiences.
- Have you ever been to a pumpkin patch? What did you do there?
- Have you carved a jack-o-lantern like the ones in the book? What did it look like? What did you think of it?
- Have you ever dressed up in a costume before? What did you dress up as?
- Look at the 5 pumpkins on one of the pages where they are lined up.
- How do they look different from each other?
- How do they look the same?
#SING – Five Grey and Spooky Ghosts
Tune: Five Green and Speckled Frogs
Five grey and spooky ghosts
Doing what they love most
Scaring some most rambunctious kids
One flew into the sky
Where it was nice and dry
Now there are four grey spooky ghosts
Four grey and spooky ghosts
Doing what they love most
Scaring some most rambunctious kids
One flew into the sky
Where it was nice and dry
Now there are three grey spooky ghosts
Three grey and spooky ghosts
Doing what they love most
Scaring some most rambunctious kids
One flew into the sky
Where it was nice and dry
Now there are two grey spooky ghosts
Two grey and spooky ghosts
Doing what they love most
Scaring some most rambunctious kids
One flew into the sky
Where it was nice and dry
Now there is one grey spooky ghost
One grey and spooky ghost
Doing what it loves most
Scaring some most rambunctious kids
It flew into the sky
Where it was nice and dry
Now there are no grey spooky ghosts
#EXPLORE – Blow-Straw Ghosts

Materials:
- Straws
- White paint
- Black paper
- Markers
- Optional: Googly eyes & glue
Instructions:
- Squeeze some white paint onto the black paper. A quarter sized amount will work, but the more you put on the bigger your ghost will be.
- Place the end of the straw over the wet paint but not touching it.
- Blow through the straw to spread the paint out (if the paint is difficult to spread, mix it with some water until it becomes runnier).
- Have your little one experiment with moving the end of the straw around to move the paint further.
- Repeat this to create as many ghosts (or other creatures) as they would like and then let dry.
- Once dry, decorate with markers and/or googly eyes.
