#READ: If You're Happy and You Know It by Anna McQuinn

Use your library card or apply for an ecard here to access our digital library!
In this multicultural version of the traditional song, children from cultures all over the world clap their hands, stomp their feet, pat their heads, and much more.
Increase pre-literacy skills as you read together:
- Act out the story by doing the actions on each page. Read the book again and sing the words.
- Run your finger under the words as you read them. This shows that words from the familiar song are printed on the page.
- Build vocabulary as you learn to say hello in various languages by reading the inside of the back cover.
#SING : If You're Happy and You Know It
If you’re happy and you know it, clap your hands.
If you’re happy and you know it, clap your hands.
If you’re happy and you know it,
and you really want to show it
If you’re happy and you know it, clap your hands.
If you’re glad and you know it, do a dance.
If you’re glad and you know it, do a dance.
If you’re glad and you know it,
and you really want to show it
If you’re glad and you know it, do a dance.
If you’re mad and you know it, take a breath!
If you’re mad and you know it, take a breath!
If you’re mad and you know it,
and you really want to show it
If you’re mad and you know it, take a breath!
If you’re silly and you know it, make a silly face.
If you’re silly and you know it, make a silly face.
If you’re silly and you know it,
and you really want to show it
If you’re silly and you know it, make a silly face.

Each month we will center our movement activities/class around a selected piece of children’s literature. We will be utilizing music and props, focusing on movement exploration using the book's descriptive language and beautiful imagery. This week we will share Happy! by Pharrell Williams.
