Junior Scholars: Summer!
It's SUMMER! School is out, the weather is warm, and there are so many fun things to do! This includes the Library's Summer Reading Program, which starts THIS WEEK! This year's theme is "Oceans of Possibilities." For every 15 days that you read for at least 20 minutes, you’ll earn a free book (that’s up to FOUR books!)! You can pick up a bookmark at your nearest library to help you keep track. But the fun doesn’t stop there...you can also earn tickets by visiting your library and attending programs that you can turn in for prizes! We hope to see you at some of our events and activities, and keep reading!
Junior Scholars: Imagination
One of the most brilliant people in the world once said, "Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world." You may have heard of him; the famous scientist and inventor, Albert Einstein. Even he knew that imagination was something so important that it should be valued and celebrated. With your imagination you can create anything and everything! What will you imagine this week?
Junior Scholars: Food & Cooking
Though I'm not a fan of the cleanup, I enjoy cooking for family and friends. Food can be many things, from exciting to comforting, but most of all, I love how food brings people together! Do you like to cook? What's your favorite food? Join us as we explore the yummy (and funny) side of Food and Cooking!
Junior Scholars: Movement & Balance
What do you think of when you hear the word "movement?" Do you picture a busy, fast pace, like running around? What if movement could be slow and calming? Join us as we explore how movement and balance can be found in nature in our science, art, and Junior Reader programs!
Junior Scholars: Celebration of the Arts
Have you heard the saying, "Earth without Art is just Eh"? Art in all its creative forms: music, dance, painting, sculpture, writing, and spoken word, brings meaning and joy to our everyday lives. What type of art do you like to create? Join us as we Celebrate the Arts this week--there are lots of opportunities to flex your creative muscles!
