Event Highlights the Importance of High Quality Education for All Children
JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Oct. 25, 2016 – On October 27, 2016, the Jacksonville Public Library will join forces for the world’s largest shared reading experience, known as Jumpstart’s Read for the Record. Since 2006, this 24-hour celebration has mobilized over 17 million people, and Jumpstart holds the world reading record for the most people reading the same book on the same day.
Throughout the day, all Jacksonville library locations will offer a reading or multiple readings of the book, The Bear Ate Your Sandwich by Julia Sarcone-Roach. Those who can’t make it to a library can participate via JPL Facebook live events that day. Customers can also share photos of themselves reading The Bear Ate Your Sandwich on JPL social media using #ReadfortheRecord. Multiple copies of the book are available to borrow from the library.
