Cheryl from Beaches is reeling us in with an "almost Gothic, but not quite," read for #JPLPicks. "The protagonist of "Grief Cottage" by Gail Godwin is a young boy who has an old soul. The prose is very good, Godwin is an author who has written many books and her talent shows." Tell us what you think of the prose from this almost gothic story:

"Ones and Zeroes: A Mirador novel" by Dan Wells is up for our #JPLPicks today thanks to Christie at South Mandarin! It's the second in the series which follows Marisa and her friends in a futuristic dystopian Los Angeles dealing with corruption in the video world she participates in. Jump headlong into this world of corruption and intrigue!

We've got a high fantasy #JPLpicks from Alicia this week! She recommends "Dragonriders of Pern" by Anne McCaffrey because it has “an imaginative setting, political intrigue, rich characters, steamy romance and PLENTY of dragons all combined to make this series the first to hook me on Sci-Fi and Fantasy.” It’s still one of her favorites:
