If you’re a self-published indie author of Young Adult Fiction or Adult Fiction, submit your work for the Florida Indie Author Contest sponsored by Library Journal and BiblioBoard. The contest deadline is May 31, 2019.

The statewide writing competition will recognize the top self-published book in Florida. If the Florida winner is from Duval County, Jacksonville Public Library will showcase the winning submission in a variety of ways.

Winners in each category of Young Adult and Adult Fiction will receive $500 and:

  • Inclusion in Indie Florida, a digital collection of local authors on BiblioBoard Library
  • Honors at the 2020 Public Library Association Conference in Nashville
  • Opportunities to promote the winning title to Florida libraries
  • Inclusion in a full page spread in Library Journal

Each book submitted to the contest must be:

  • Independently self-published
  • In the category of Young Adult or Adult Fiction
  • Written by a Florida resident
  • Available in PDF or ePUB format

Submit your work at:

Email author_relations@biblioboard.com for more information.

If your work isn’t quite ready for this contest, you can still take advantage of free tools to get your e-books published and noticed in the future.
SELF-e is a way for self-published authors to promote their e-books by uploading their work for inclusion into Library Journal’s SELF-e Select nationwide collection and/or SELF-e Florida collection. SELF-e exposes your e-book to readers through the public library.
Learn more and read FAQs about SELF-e. Read the terms of agreement and find out how to submit your title.
Pressbooks helps you create, edit, format and generate print-ready and e-book formats for your book with Pressbooks, no matter where you are in the writing process.
