Next Great Jacksonville Book Sale Jacksonville Fairgrounds Printable Flyer |
FJPL has been working since 1956 to support the city's public libraries. Proceeds from the two big book sales, as well as year-round sales at the BOOKtique in the Main Library and the Saturday Morning Bookstore at University Park Library, are used to supplement the Library's budget.
FJPL has started a new program, We need donations to pay the costs of shipping books, tapes, etc. We also need your help to connect with men and women from the First Coast who are serving overseas. Thanks, |

Friends of the Jacksonville Public Library presented a $200,000 check today to the Library-- proceeds of FJPL book sales in 2009.
Books were sold at two Great Jacksonville Book Sales at the Fairgrounds, the Saturday Morning Bookstore at University Park Library and online sales.
The money will be used to enhance the Library budget.
FJPL President, Harry Reagan, said the Library donation is the result of a lot of hard work by volunteers. "I'm proud of the volunteers who helped make this possible," Reagan said. "We work very hard to raise money for the Library”.
Reagan said most of the money came from two Great Jacksonville Book Sales at the Fairgrounds. FJPL is already preparing for the next Big Sale to the Fairgrounds, March 5-7, 2010.
Receiving the check, Library Director, Barbara Gubbin, said, “We are so grateful to the Friends for their commitment to the Library”.
"Holding a second book sale this past October further demonstrates the Friends dedication to ensuring the library can maintain its quality services to the community”, Gubbin said.
Earlier in the year, FJPL presented a $50,000 check to the Library, money from the BOOKtique in the Main Library.
