David H. Dwight, Sr.

DAVID HOLSEY DWIGHT, Sr. was a prominent and influential citizen of Jacksonville's African American community during the first half of the 20th century. The collection contains letters, documents, photographs and memorabilia documenting his civic and social activities. Included are materials about the National Alliance of Postal and Federal Employees; the Duval County Democratic Alliance; and his pioneering efforts in the development and organization of scouting for African American boys in Jacksonville.
